Country Park Condominium
Atelier Design Studio embarked on a project to transform this 3-bedroom, 1300sqf unit at Country Park Condominium in late 2016. From a cluttered, tired-looking unit with awkward angles bathed in warm yellow, it has been transformed into a spacious-looking home with a cool white, minimalist theme. Atelier leveraged its expertise in innovative space planning and leading-edge design creations to transform Jason’s and Karen’s dream into reality.
Atelier Design Studio works in close consultation with its clients. While the requirements come from the clients, Atelier generates the ideas and executes them. In the event that challenges surface, Atelier provides counter-proposals that mitigates them and provide a win-win solution for both parties.
Clean lines define the living room. The look is minimalist, complemented with marble-like homogeneous floor tiles. High-gloss white cabinets provide lots of hidden storage space for photo albums, CDs, books and arch files, while a pigeon hole holds loose items like the cordless phone and the broadband router. The television set is tucked into a recessed area in the feature wall that also provides a platform for the external speakers.
A recessed area under a beam provides partial shelter in the corner for the family piano. To its side, a floor-to-ceiling cabinet clad in high-gloss white provides storage space for the family’s guitar. To the left is a brand-new island kitchen that adds a modern statement that contrasts with the traditional kitchen beyond. Note the two new paths into the kitchen. Where there used to be only one way in, via the bedroom corridor, one can now enter on the sides of the island kitchen.
The homeowners, Karen Gan and Jason Tay, together with their pet dogs, sharing a moment of smiles with Jim Lim of Atelier Design Studio following the two-month renovation of their 3-bedroom apartment. They are evidently happy, having seen their dream home materialise.
