Originally referred to Atelier Design Studio by a friend, the owners of this landed property became another repeat client. Four years before, Jim had worked on their strata-titled house and did major renovations. Finding him to be efficient, honest and trustworthy, it was a no-brainer for this couple with a family of 2 children and mother-in-law to re-hire Jim. With the new project, the 2.5 storey space is larger and came with a bigger budget for the 6-month long project.
The major work required was to create a landing space on the 2nd level to make a 2nd family space (indoors) that led to a 2nd dining and social space outdoors. 2 half-walls on the left and the right were created to provide some privacy and a poly-carbonate roof overhead for shelter. A galvanised steel railing was put in place for safety and security. Further, the kitchen was re-done with more work-top space. Also one of the 5 bedrooms was converted into a study, as well as refurbishing all 4 bathrooms and putting in a walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom.
