The brief from the single parent homeowner was a total renovation of a property she and her 2 adult children had stayed in for 10 years. Atelier Design Studio was engaged to make preparation for the owner’s senior years. The apartment space was enhanced and made wider for easy wheelchair access. Likewise, steps around the apartment were modified with ramps for the smooth accessibility. In line with the new normal and to ease the process of working from home, all 3 bedrooms were built with custom work tables.
Vacating the apartment for close to 5 months for the ease of project completion, the extensive work included hacking and replacing floor tiles, adding walls to create a new storeroom, updating the kitchen, the 3 bedrooms with built-in cabinets and 2 bathrooms. The front door and gates were also replaced.
