Aquarine Gardens - 3 Bedroom Penthouse
Jim Lim of Atelier Design Studio recently had the opportunity to work on an apartment in Aquarine Gardens, a lovely boutique development, nicely tucked in a quiet corner of Upper East Coast Road.
The unit that Jim renovated is a lovely, three-bedroom penthouse with a floor area of 1,648sqf. With three ensuites and two balconies, this is a dream apartment that Alan and Camilia, the homeowners, are proud to call home!
The living room is as spacious as it could be, because a former divider has been hacked away. While the ceiling fans add a beautiful touch to the ceiling, a storage cabinet hides the power distribution box and provides space in which to store handbags and shoes. The deep kitchen, the pride of any lady, sports a sliding door and thoughtfully-hidden light switches.
A common bedroom, which can be turned into a guestroom, sits on the lower floor. A full-height wardrobe has been installed and the feature wall in the toilet features modern wall tiles.
Heading up to the upper floor, one will notice the gleaming floor, varnished expertly by Jim and his team. The stairs lead to the master bedroom and a study, both of whose doors have been shifted from their original positions.
The master room is a cosy haven for Alan and Camilia. Multiple lamps create a dreamy effect. A pair lamps, comprising incandescent bulbs encased in bell-shaped lampshades, lends a nice touch. As halogen lamps in the ceiling illuminate the room further, bedhead lights and cove lighting do their part by diffusing light onto the wall, further adding to the warmth. A three-bed rosewood fan cools the room, while a gradually-broadening white band splashed across the master bedroom wardrobe doors adds an artistic touch.
In the study next door, a cabinet sports a white and brown pattern, giving the room a modern look. A long study desk running along the length of the room gives enough space for the couple to work together, as light switches tucked away in a corner reduce visual clutter. In the toilet, special wall tiles placed in strategic locations break the monotony of the usual bathroom wall. Waterproofing board is used in the cabinets to ensure they last in the humid environment. A bathtub has been installed, complete with mood lighting to complete the dreamy atmosphere!
Thanks to Jim and his team at Atelier Design Studio, Alan’s and Camilia’s humble abode has been transformed into a dream home they can truly enjoy!
